Lots of good insight in this article of yours! I was struck reading the whole beginning part of how similar it seems to many narratives (in my experience usually fictional) I’ve come across of people in the military returning home and feeling just so… *dejected* without their clear and straightforward/”simple” missions in the military. Or even re-enlisting because of that as well.
Regardless of how different war is from a long hiking journey, I’m struck by the similarities.
